Faster ‘Free’ WiFi Internet

In an earlier posting, we ran through how you can get access to the Internet for Free at Starbucks via AT&T provided WiFi. You can jump to that that article here.

‘Free’ has come with a price, namely more than a dozen taps on the screen to jump through the hoops… remember? Select AT&T from the WiFi area, launch a web site, enter your phone number (ten taps right there), go to you SMS area… and so on. Once your connected, it is a really fast Internet connection so it’s worth the ‘work.

The folks at Devicescape, developers of Easy WiFi (quick login tool for many WiFi providers, $1.99), have expanded their line with “Easy WiFi for AT&T” (clicking link launches iTunes). Much ToDo, Many Choices to manage your ToDo lists

In an earlier post we suggested that you take some time to think through how you will be using your iPhone or Touch day to day. How will it fit into your life and make a positive impact.

Everyone keeps some sort of check list so they can see how they are progressing towards the finish line of things to get done.

For the iPhone, there are ToDo apps that keep your ToDo items on your iPhone as a silo, there are ToDo apps for the iPhone that sync to a desktop application over a WiFi network, and there are ToDo apps that sync to a ToDo list Web site (some of these site options will sync to a desktop app as well).

Updating applications directly with your iPhone or Touch

There is no need to wait to get updates via your desktop iTunes. You can check for updates anytime directly on the iPhone. Choose the icon ‘App Store’, then choose the ‘Updates’ along the bottom right.

Your applications can get better

 

You bought a few apps for your iPhone / Touch from the iTunes AppStore. You installed them are now using those applications as the developer had intended you to.

 

But… what if the application developer decides that there is a feature they want to add or there is an issue that they have fixed. How do you know? How do you get a update to the one your using?

 

Developers are currently updating their apps and provide those at no additional charge. Some time off in the future, they will surely want to release a very different version that they will want to charge for – that day is not here yet and will carry some confusion about versions. We will cover that when it happens.

Tuning your built in camera

 

There are three options on the market right now that till allow you to ‘tune’ your iPhone camera via add on lenses. This is the review of one that is a snug protective case from Griffin that has a lens allowing the iPhone to take close up picture clearly.

 

Your first reaction may be that you don’t ‘need’ to take close up pictures. But, you may want to take a closer look at how your using your camera now. 

 

For group shots or pictures of landscape, all is good. Try to take a picture of a piece of paper or a scratch on your car and you get a slightly out-of-focus usable-ish picture.
